3. Data Collection on Our Website
Processing of Personal Data via Cookies
We use so-called "cookies" on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device's storage medium (e.g., on a hard drive) and through which certain information flows to us as the party setting the cookie. Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your device. This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below.
Cookies stored in association with your web browser:
-
Transient Cookies: These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your web browser. This particularly includes session cookies. These store a so-called "session ID," which allows various requests from your web browser to be assigned to the common session. This enables your device to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted as soon as you log out or close the web browser.
-
Persistent Cookies: These cookies are automatically deleted after a specified duration, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete these cookies at any time in your web browser settings.
The processing of personal data by the aforementioned cookies serves to make our website's overall offering more user-friendly and effective for you. Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of these cookies. In particular, some functions require that your web browser can be identified even after a page change. Data processed by cookies required for providing the functions of our website are not used to create user profiles.
Insofar as cookies are used for analytical purposes, they serve to improve the quality and user-friendliness of our website, its content, and its functions. They allow us to understand how the website is used, which functions are accessed, and how often they are used. This enables us to continuously optimize our services.
Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in the aforementioned purposes.
The aforementioned cookies are stored on your device and transmitted from it to our server. You can therefore configure the processing of data and information via cookies yourself. You can make corresponding configurations in your web browser settings, allowing you, for example, to reject third-party cookies or all cookies entirely. In this context, we would like to point out that you may then not be able to use all functions of our website properly. Furthermore, we recommend regularly deleting cookies and your browser history manually.
Processing of Personal Data During Informational Use of Our Website
If you access our website without registering or otherwise providing us with information ("informational use"), we only collect the personal data that your web browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security:
-

-
Content of the website
-
Access status (HTTP status)
-
Amount of data transferred
-
Website from which you reached our website
-
Web browser
-
Operating system
-
Language and version of the browser
The aforementioned data is also stored in so-called log files on our servers. This does not affect your IP address or other data that allow the data to be assigned to you. This data is not stored together with other personal data of yours.
The collection and temporary storage of the IP address is necessary to enable the presentation of our website on your device. For this purpose, your IP address must be stored for the duration of your visit to our website. Storage in log files serves to ensure the functionality and optimization of our website, as well as to ensure the security of our information technology systems. This data is not evaluated for marketing purposes.
Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in the aforementioned purposes.
The aforementioned data for providing our website is deleted when the respective session has ended. Data in log files is deleted after seven days at the latest. Any storage beyond this occurs only if we have previously deleted or anonymized your IP address, so that it is no longer possible to assign the data to your person. The collection of the aforementioned data for providing our website and the storage of this data in log files is absolutely essential for the operation of our website. There is no possibility of objection.
Comment Function on this Website
In addition to your comment, the comment function on this page stores information regarding the time the comment was created, your email address and, if you do not post anonymously, the username you have chosen.
Storage of IP Address
Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who compose comments. Since we do not review comments on our site before they are published, we require this data to be able to take action against the author in the event of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.
Storage Period of Comments
Comments and the associated data (e.g., IP address) are stored and remain on our website until the commented content has been completely deleted or the comments must be deleted for legal reasons (e.g., offensive comments).
Legal Basis
The storage of comments is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You may revoke your consent at any time. An informal notification by email to us is sufficient for this purpose. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
Contacting Us
If you contact us by email, the personal data transmitted to us with your email will be stored.
Additionally, we record your IP address and the time of dispatch. This data is not passed on to third parties. The data is used exclusively to answer your questions.

You may revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. When contacting us by email, you may object to the storage of your personal data at any time. Please note that in this case, your inquiry can no longer be processed. You can declare your revocation or objection by sending an email to the address provided in our legal notice (Imprint).
4. Analysis Tools and Advertising
Google Analytics
We use "Google Analytics" on our website, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as: "Google"). Google uses cookies—small text files stored on your device—which enable an analysis of your use of our website. The information generated by the cookie about the use of our website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
If IP anonymization is activated on the website ("IP anonymization"), your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide us with further services associated with website and internet usage. Pseudonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data. The IP address transmitted as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
We only use Google Analytics with the previously described IP anonymization activated. This means that your IP address is only processed further by Google in shortened form. This rules out any direct personal reference.
We use Google Analytics for the purpose of analyzing the use of our website and to continuously improve individual functions, offers, and the user experience. Through the statistical evaluation of user behavior, we can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. This also constitutes our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by Google.
You can prevent the storage of cookies generated by Google Analytics by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. We point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of our website. If you wish to prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your user behavior (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google, you can download and install the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
To oblige Google to process the transmitted data only in accordance with our instructions and to comply with applicable data protection regulations, we have concluded an order processing contract (Data Processing Agreement) with Google. For exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to and is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement concluded between the European Union and the USA. Google thereby undertakes to comply with the standards and regulations of European data protection law. Google Analytics Remarketing
Our websites use the features of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device capabilities of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
This feature allows advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing to be linked with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalized advertising messages that have been adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behavior on one device (e.g., mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g., tablet or PC).
If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history with your Google Account for this purpose. This allows the same personalized advertising messages to be delivered to every device on which you log in with your Google Account.
To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated IDs of users, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.
You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalized advertising in your Google Account. To do so, follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.
The aggregation of the collected data in your Google Account is based solely on your consent, which you can give to or revoke from Google (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). For data collection processes that are not merged into your Google Account (e.g., because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the merging), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that we, as the website operator, have an interest in the anonymized analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.
Further information and the privacy policy can be found in Google's Privacy Policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.
5. Newsletter
Newsletter Data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or is only collected on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.
The processing of the data entered into the newsletter registration form takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you have stored with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted after you cancel the subscription. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g., email addresses for the member area) remains unaffected by this.
Newsletter Information
Through our newsletter, we inform you about ourselves and our offers.
If you wish to receive the newsletter, we require a valid email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the provided email address or that the owner agrees to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected. This data is used only for sending the newsletter and is not shared with third parties.
The processing of data entered into the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).
When you register for the newsletter, we store your IP address and the date of registration. This storage serves solely as proof in the event that a third party misuses an email address and registers for the newsletter without the knowledge of the authorized person.
You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. The revocation can be made via a link in the newsletters themselves, in your profile area, or by notification to the contact options listed above.
ActiveCampaign
The newsletter is sent using "ActiveCampaign," a newsletter distribution platform based at 1 N Dearborn, 5th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601, USA.
The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in the context of these notices, are stored on ActiveCampaign's servers in the USA. ActiveCampaign uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, ActiveCampaign may use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g., for the technical optimization of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, ActiveCampaign does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or pass the data on to third parties.
We rely on the reliability and the IT and data security of ActiveCampaign. ActiveCampaign is certified under the US-EU "Privacy Shield" data protection agreement and is thus committed to complying with EU data protection requirements. Furthermore, we have concluded a "Data Processing Agreement" with ActiveCampaign. This is a contract in which ActiveCampaign undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its data protection provisions, and in particular not to pass it on to third parties. You can view ActiveCampaign's privacy policy [here].

Google Web Fonts
On our website, we use "Google Web Fonts," a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as: "Google"). Google Web Fonts allow us to use external fonts, known as Google Fonts. For this purpose, when our website is accessed, the required Google Font is loaded by your web browser into the browser cache. This is necessary so that your browser can display an optically improved representation of our texts. If your browser does not support this function, a standard font from your computer will be used for display. The integration of these web fonts occurs via a server call, usually to a Google server in the USA (in our case, hosted on our server). This transmits to the server which of our internet pages you have visited. The IP address of the browser of your end device is also stored by Google. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account. If you do not wish the assignment to your Google profile, you must log out beforehand. Google stores your data as usage profiles and uses them for purposes of advertising, market research, and/or the demand-oriented design of its website.
